Last night we went out for dinner, celebrating Mothers-day, again. We went to the Church Square where all the restaurants and bars were, non of them full, even on Mothers day as tourist don’t come here, even though it is on a par with Split in Croatia (in my opinion.) There were several Galleries and shops that sells furniture and interior decorations.… Read More

As we arrived and parked inside the conference room Milsy started by stinking it out with petrol, he tipped his bike over onto its site, only breaking few tiles, and then replaced the fuel tap, we had 3 spares as they are know to give problems. While this was going on I was typing away and Rocky was on Laundry Duty, he disappeared with 30kg of coils and 10 nog of combined washing.… Read More
Last night was amazing, we took a taxi to the Market and then had dinner on the city square. It was packed and I will post a few video’s on Instagram of how the people spontaneously get up and dance to the Marimba Band.
The fish market was thankfully busy closing, sadly the smell had not yet knocked-off, but it was interesting, they have a big section selling Mezcal, I wanted to buy a bottle but they wanted 700 Pesos for the bottle, obviously the brand, but you could buy 2lt of another brand for 140 Pesos.… Read More
Yesterday Afternoon Peens arrived, he had a very long ride to join us, as you know he came a week early to fish and look for a wife along the Baja Peninsula. He succeeded with the fish but we are all still helping him find a wife, so if any of you know of a single woman, preferably with her own fishing boat, please send me the photo of the boat so I can chat to Peens.… Read More
Yesterday afternoon some Bikere friends of our Mexican hosts came to fetch us in a combi and we went out to dinner.
The food was different and there were more stew-like food which you put inside the Corn Tortilla, also some little ribs and then my nemesis, the “black Bean chocolate thing.”

I once made the mistake to say my favourite food was the black hard-shell taco with mince in.… Read More
As I said last night we arrived in the dark and we would not have made it if it wasn’t for Regillio (Rodger,) who was an excellent navigator yesterday, he is sold like a rock:

He can’t speak or understand English, so communicating is difficult, but he is such a nice guy, he loves dancing and spontaneously start dancing when he
Last night we ate Guatemalan food which was more like a Mixed Grill, we did not eat a meal the entire day, so we tuck in and did not stop until everything was finished.… Read More
Last night we decided we had done enough to break the back of this long trek down to San Jose in Costa Rica, we were now only 1000km away, and we have to reach San Jose on Sunday. Sort out Storage and clean the bikes on Monday and fly back on Tuesday. Unfortunately we still have 3 Border Crossings, and one is into Nicaragua, which we hear is a nightmare.… Read More
This morning we said good-bye to our hosts after breakfast, which was a little different than yesterday, instead of beans and rice there was a bean mash with strong garlic taste, once again not a hint of bacon or meat, I think I am half Vegetarian by now.
We tackled the traffic and I expected the worse, cutting between the lanes of cars with fully loaded bikes is
NO JOKE !!!… Read More
We went out for Chinese food last night, we had just about had it with the local food. I got the size of the portions wrong when I ordered, so instead of normal size dishes we received huge plates with fried-rice, noodles, vegetables and chicken and ribs. The restaurant was like a Mc Donalds feel inside, including a Jumping castle, it was sort of take away but eat in, no ambiance and bright lights, but the food was great.… Read More
Yes, another day and another Border Crossing. Thankfully it was into Costa Rica, our last country on this Leg. I always dreaded this Leg as I knew it was going to be the worst of all our Legs riding around the world, many little counties and lots of re-tape, but we are now a mornings ride from San Jose and the end is in sight.… Read More
