Yesterday Afternoon at 17h00 after we have been sitting around like Boemelaars (hobo’s) in the Canteen of the Ferry Terminal for more than 5 hours, we were asked by the lady from the Customs to move our bikes, again, to where they could be left safely for the night, then she took our keys and told us she will be on duty until 22h00. We took some toiletries and stuffs we would need for the night at a hotel and walked towards a hotel, but it was very expensive, so we walked a little further, we stumbled onto a little restaurant where we went to sit, drink a beer and lick our wounds, and ate an Empanada. Rocky and Peens were constantly trying to find Insurance on line. Catalina who had been sent all our documents reported proudly she is positive the Insurance will be issued before noon the next day, and that would not work for us. We were told it was to blame on the Public Holiday.
Rocky decided we should walk past an office of an Insurance Salesman and see if there is an emergency number on the door. Millsy said he would look for a hotel, I said I would get us another beer, and Peens said he would walk to the office, only 260m away from us. When he got there he saw that the owner of the Insurance Brokers lived at the back of his offices and also above the offices. So in true Peens’s style he hammered on the door until the angry Broker opened up. Peens explained our situation and told him we needed 4 policies. Well as they say, the rest is history, we took him our papers and he issued 4 policies and we were able to collect our bikes. All the Ferry Terminal staff who had been looking at us for over 5 hours cheered and celebrated our Freedom with us with bigs smiles and waves as we left.
This morning we had breakfast and rode to Montevideo, directly to Willi a ex Motor-Cross Champion of Uruguay in the 70’s which has a Workshop and a little Museum. I got a little emotional during the ride and realized this chapter of my life was closing. It was a lovely ride, almost like riding through the Midlands, and lots of farms.

Then we went and washed the bikes and went to his son Kevin where the bikes will be stored.

Even the wheels were polished, Rocky was getting a very good and clean and loved bike.

While all of this was happening in Uruguay, the other 3 guys still in Buenos Aires were getting their bikes ready for shipping. Lots of inspections and paperwork, and getting the bikes onto Pallets and getting them wrapped.

Dog exchanged some Police Patches again.

I had a quick shower at the storage-man Kevin while my bike was being positioned in a corner by the others. I did a hand-over to Rocky and handed him the keys to DadAss, soon to be Dan’sAss.

Then I got an Uber and I am many hours early for my flight. This blog is coming from the Star Bucks as the Check-in Counter is still not open, but I was sent my Boarding Passes by my lovely Travel Lady and all looks set for my return back home.

I have started on a Final Blog and will hopefully be working on it from within the comforts of an Airport Lounge soon to add some photos and tell a few more stories. It will be a very long Blog as I need to go back in time 14 years to Leg 1 and remember some stuffs and then tell you.
So for the 2nd last time ever, this is me signing off.
Till later you Good People
Love You Lots
