My flight back to the USA is on the 2nd of May, Pie went early and is already in Denver where him, dog and Tex left their bikes when they finished Leg 17 a few days earlier than the rest of us as they were “too afraid of the heat in Houston mid summer,” how precious, so now these three bikes still need to be ridden down to Houston from where we will all depart, but only on the 7th as there is an un-known amount of admin awaiting us in Houston at the Department of Motor Vehicles as the bikes were out of Texas for 5 years and their Annual Licenses could not be renewed as they need to be inspected every year, like a Roadworthy Test before the License can be renewed.… Read More

I was too exhausted last night to do this post, I am now writing this Post while sitting at Tex’s Dinning room Table, overlooking Nassau Bay. When I collapsed into bed last night at 22h00 it was 36 hours since I got into the Uber at my house to go to the airport. The curveball  was that I thought after my 16,25hr flight from JHB to NY that I only had a 3,25 hr flight left from NY to Houston, but there is a 1 hour time difference, so it was a 4,25hr flight, then a 1 hour Uber to Tex’s house, then Pie Milsy and I got into the car (Tex was still at work, Rocky only arriving tomorrow and Peens is already in Mexico behind a fishing rod, he came a week early and will join us as he is 1st going down the Baja Peninsula, then will cross over to the Main Land with a ferry that drops him in Sinaloa, let me not say more, this name will install fear into anyone that has watched Narco’s.)… Read More

Today was a relaxing Home Day, Tex went to work in the morning and Pie, Milsy and I had the whole day just to prepare. Rocky is in the air on his way here and we see from Peens’s photos that he is catching fish in Mexico and that he has booked some Dives for the weekend, I am very jealous.… Read More

We had the morning to kill as Rocky was only arriving after lunch, so I washed my riding jacket and we spent some time looking at the maps to plot our route after we cross into Guatemala, (Doc has worked out the route through Mexico to include a few historic towns, coastal resort, and several Natural Wonders and even some Inca Ruins.)… Read More

Tonight is the big party, and fitting, we are celebrating that our trip has now been going on for 300 Days.

This morning we went walking with Tex looking at all his cattle and building projects, and of course some toys. When we visited the Ranch in 2017 the main Farm House, built by Red Adare, (he became famous for putting out all the Oil-Well-Fires in Kuwait back in the 80’s,) was still standing but it has now been demolished as the termites took over, and a new Farm House is being planned, but in the mean time hay-loft above the Stables were converted into three bedroom accommodation.… Read More

We are in Mexico !!!!! We  heard from Peens that he just rode through the border when he crossed into Mexico 5 days ago, “it was very easy he said, no paperwork, no stamp, no nothing.” And today it was the same for us, lots of Camera’s from 4 angles when we left the USA, but no person in site. Then we arrived at the Mexican side and once again, lots of cameras but no people, then there was a toll-booth where the operator confirmed no passport stamping at his booth and to ride through.… Read More

Yesterday we discovered that instead of just 4 new friends we had 7 new friends who all arrived at the hotel. We all got to know each other and went to sit at the pool and in the Jaccuzzi for a beer. We discovered that Doc is actually a Dentist and one of the guys was an Anaesthetist, there was a Lawyer and an Architect, and there were more that were doctors, but I not sure what field they work in.… Read More

Only 341km looks like a short day, but we just arrived at the hotel 19h15. It was a strange day.
