For those who have been following my Blogs, you know by now there is a Silly Little Post just before we leave for the next Leg, I pretend its is all about the packing, prep and plan, but it is actually to just test that the website is working Lekker. What you dont know is that while we are not riding there is a photo on the website advertising the next leg and the dates we are riding again, it is called the “Landing Page,” (look at me getting all IT-Tec-Smart!!!!… Read More

We did not travel together as a group this time as Tex was turning 70 and was holding a very big party at his Party Barn on his Ranch in Texas, so Pie and Millsy went via Tex’s Party for a very big “Opskop.”

Millsy’s Daughter works in Louisiana and was also able to attend wearing her Red Cowboy Boots, to match Tex’s Texan outfit :

Millsy even brought his lovely wife with for this party :

I was un-able to go to Tex’s party as myself and my lovely wife were competing in a Regularity Rally for old cars and old bikes in the Western Cape, called the Fairest Cape Tour;

Peens came directly to Mendoza to service his bike and put new Fork Oil and Oil Seals on his front forks.… Read More
Yesterday after Siesta ended (not that I had any Siesta) I walked to the Tyre-Man to see how Peens was doing with “cracking open” his forks, and got there just in time to see him spill all the oil over his shorts and on the floor. Our storage is 40km out of the city of Mendoza Down Town and is in a suburb called San Martin.… Read More
After I did the Blog last night I found the guys sitting almost in the street drinking beer from beer bought at Reception, they were having a great time, not Classy, but nobody in Mendoza knows them.

I rest my case.
I quickly convinced them to go out for dinner, we went to an area for that we did not go to last time when we finished Leg 21 in Mendoza.… Read More
The town where we slept was a real little Tourist town and interesting place to walk around in.

I did not walk around as I was having problems doing the blog as the Server was off-line, or that is what I thought, so I had to waste an hour of my time trying to talk to a Robot, which obviously failed, so then I emailed the Support who told me there was no problem on their side.… Read More
Last night we ate Biltong, Chips and Peanuts, we drank whisky and beer out of Hand Made “Glassware” until we had the energy to go and tighten the chains, lubricate them, and do a few other things, like fitting a new pair of Flickers on Pie’s bike.

Millsy had the best “seat” in the lounge\kitchen\bedroom, not all the curtains he could oporate should he need something to do.… Read More
This morning we left just after 8h00, we were in a hurry as we had a Lunch appointment is Chille. The streets were deserted as we rode past several Petrol Filling Stations. Getting fuel in Argentina has been problematic to say the least. Every time we had to fill up we had to find the end of the line of cars and join the queue, sometimes around the block, with over 20 cars ahead of us.… Read More
Last night we sat in Rockies room eating nuts, biltong and crisps, (we call this an Oros Dinner as we then dont go out for dinner,) looking at YouTube Videos of Route 7, calculating distances, checking for accommodation and fuel along the way, and checking Ferry Times. I scribbled our Route Planning on the back of the hotel’s Mini Bar Price List (the hotel is the best we have had on this Leg, the Mini Bar stocked with 2 Cokes and 2 Waters, hardly 5 Star, more like a Holiday Inn.)… Read More
When things are going smoothly while traveling, and it looks like it is going to be an easy day, BEWARE !!!! it is going to change suddenly and slap you in the face. We woke up early as usual, some with an alarm clock and Pie and Rocky waking up the Cockerel to start crowing. We 1st went to the fuel station as we were up loooooong before breakfast.… Read More
Last night Tex went Breakfast shopping and arrived with a big box of stuffs (yes, my word.) This morning I sautéed the onions (which I attempted to chop, using a normal knife you eat with, there were no real knives,) with some butter. I fried the bacon in a very little pan and Tex whisked the eggs with a fork and then I added this to the onions.… Read More
