We had the morning to kill as Rocky was only arriving after lunch, so I washed my riding jacket and we spent some time looking at the maps to plot our route after we cross into Guatemala, (Doc has worked out the route through Mexico to include a few historic towns, coastal resort, and several Natural Wonders and even some Inca Ruins.)

The bay where Tex stay floods every few years, for that reason the home owners can’t get home owners insurance, so they are insured under the Federal Government, which has now offered to lift the homes for those who wants to by adding a basement under the house.

We left Houston later than planned and had to deal with the weekend traffic leaving the city as we had to go close past Downtown to head West to Tex’s Ranch, and it was very hot, so 100km into the trip the guys pulled over for…..water…..no, ice cream.

On arrival we went to the Barn (which was very dilapidated when we saw it in 2017, but it has now been beautifully upgraded and re-vamped,) where we found everyone hard at work preparing the barn for the big Fund Raiser Tex is having to raise money for an after-school program where the boys and girls of Bellville goes after school and receive sports train and tutoring and after-school care, 150 people are expected, all dressed up and us in shorts and KTM shirts.
Look how classy the Barn is on the inside, yet, still looks like a barn from the outside.

With proper Texan Theme Decor:

Then we were shown our house where we were sleeping and went off to the little village of Bellville to have a meal, but as it was already 9pm most places were closing, but we found a nice Mexican Restaurant where we sampled the food and of course, Margaritas, so at least we have something to compare the real Mexican food with once we start traveling through Mexico.

The Fund raiser will not just be money that gets donated but also comprise of other ways to raise money, there will be betting on The Kentucky Derby Horse Race which will be shown live which is run tomorrow, the money bet on the losing horses are forfeited and goes into the evenings money raised, there are several items on Auction, including this Braai !!!!!!

The one that buys this at the auction better have a Fork Lift to move this Braam, it is far bigger than what it looks in the picture.
I wonder who will be the winner on the Pac Man Machine tomorrow evening.

Bye for now
