Day 289 Fri 19th Aug Alliance to Colby 542km

We had a better day today, we travelled together and the only problem was that it was a very boring road. We continued traveling through the Great Plains of the Mid West. We crossed out of the State of Nebraska just after lunch into the state of Kansas. In the morning the Corn fields made way for grass covered hills where Angus Cows were doing their “Free Range Stuff.”… Read More

Day 290 Sat 20 Aug Colby to Manitou Springs 491km

We had a good day today. We left and continued West, through the flat farmlands. We met another two biker ladies when we stopped for coffee. I have a lot of respect for ladies who travel on their Harleys all on their own. Classy Ladies.

Day 294 Wednesday 24th Aug Denison to Dallas via Fort Worth 220km

The clutch was opened and they found oil leaking through at the shaft, so a problem with the O-Ring, either dirt or the seal was not replaced when KTM Seattle re-built the motor, not what one would expect from a reputable dealership, they made a few stuff-ups on Peens’s bike and now he is paying the price for poor workmanship.… Read More

Day 295 Thursday 25th August Dallas to Katy 455km

Last night we were spoilt by Pie’s Brother In Law. Pie’s sister was abroad and her husband invited us out for dinner, “for a real Texas Experience.” We met at The Hard Eight BBQ Restaurant and I got worried when I saw the line of people waiting to get into the door of the restaurant. Its a Smoke House with many big smokers which you have to shuffle past as the line moves to the front where there are two service points where you choose your meat that is sliced for you and put on a plate.… Read More
