Day 378 Thursday 27th November Villa Cerra Castillo to Puerto Gradual 232km

Last night it started raining and a cold-front followed us into town. We rented 3 Cabanas for the 7 of us and the main Cabin had a fireplace and a kitchen with a real pot and even a kitchen knife, not to mention a strainer and an egg lifter, real luxury. When Pie saw the rain he started waxing his ugly boots, not to make them clean, but to make sure they will be water-tight in the rain the following day.… Read More

Day 380 Saturday 29th November Perito Moreno to Gobernador Gregory’s 378km

Yesterday afternoon after our late lunch in the Cafeteria some of the group went for a late afternoon nap while I did the blog. And let me just say, the two youngest people on this group has had the most afternoon naps, (yes I am counting,) claiming to be sick and faking coughs just to get a 30 minute shut-eye, while the oldest and 2nd oldest in the group dont sleep in the afternoon, they sleep during dinner and during the time we have a Loop Dop (one for the road.)… Read More

Day 381 Sunday 30th November Gobernador Gegores to El Calafate 355km

Yesterday I passed Dog next to the side of the road, he was with 2 policemen. I was not worried as I have ridden many kilometers with Dog, and he has a collection of “Police Patches” which he displays in his Man-Cave, (with patches swapped with other police in the USA and from all over the world, he gives them a patch that says Houston Police Department and they give him one of theirs,) I would call it a Shoulder Lapel Patch, (the identification insignia and badge the cops wear on their uniforms.)… Read More

Day 382 Monday 1st December El Calafate to Storage, to the Glacier Park and back to Hotel 176km

Yesterday a photo of Dog kissing the Tar road after the Bastard Road emerged, he said it was not just a symbolic kiss, but a proper open-mouth kiss as he was also, like me, very glad when the gravel with its marbled-stone-sections ended.

Peens collapsed into his bed yesterday when we arrived at our hotel, and now, 28 hours later, he has still not come out of our room, well, now it is his room, as I quickly got myself my own room yesterday when I saw how sick he was.… Read More

Day 383 Tuesday 2nd of December Hotel to Port of Bandera back to Hotel 102km

Last night we went walking around our little town and stopped for a glass of wine at this lovely restaurant. We had to sit outside as the inside was fully booked for the evening. It was a very smart restaurant inside with linen Tablecloths and Serviettes, something I have missed and not seen in almost 3 weeks. There was a seating area around a glass window, on comfortable Bar Chairs from where some dinners could look inside at the chefs who was cooking and garnishing the plates, almost like a Chef’s Table we had in the olden days inside the 5 Star Hotels kitchens.… Read More

Day 384 Wednesday 3rd December : Hotel to Auto Spa and Storage 4km Final Blog for Leg 22

Last night we went off to a Braai Restaurant to celebrate the end of Leg 22. It was great. Peens also, like the  Biblical Lazarus, got of from his bed and joined us. Pie also showed up and did not say anything about his new friendship.

This morning during breakfast Rocky balanced our Kitty (the finances of the trip.) Note the toast and coffee on our table.… Read More
