Yesterday I found a grocery store and bought some snack-like-things, plus some cheese & biscuits and salami, so we sat in our room and had our traditional Oros “Dinner” and talked a lot of long stories. When Pie, who was stretched out on the floor since the cheese ran out, started snoring too much we called it a night and went to bed.… Read More

Last night we went to an Italian Restaurant, I had noticed signs next to the road advertising “Milanese or Milanesa” written outside some restaurants. So last night I saw in the Spanish menu they have a section for Pasta, another for Pizza, and then two pages for Milanese. I asked the waiter who tried to explain it is very popular here in Argentina and is basically a Schnitzel and then you have many many options of different sauces and toppings to go on the Schnitzel.… Read More
Today marks the beginning of our last week of riding, just 6 more days to ride together after today, sad but true.
Yesterday’s Blog was done under immense pressure. The guys were hungry and wanted to go out to find some food. Then Peens discovered a Laundry where we could take our clothes to be washed. Hunger pains were replaced by the survival urge to smell better, and so “The Race To The Laundry” was born.… Read More
Today, 31 years ago I married an absolutely AMAZING Woman. Thea, thanks for being such a wonderful loving wife and mother to our 2 daughters, (and the newly acquired son which you also love just the same.) You are one of the strongest people I know (and I don’t mean weight lifting or boxing.) Thanks for letting me chase my dreams and encouraging me to follow the Rainbow.… Read More
Last night we had to make a call, either spend a 2nd night in Puerto Madryn and then play tourist today and ride to the Penguin Colony and have a look at the sea-lion and maybe see an Orca, or, push on and make up a day and arrive earlier in Buenos Aires. We have not used the day we made up earlier in the trip as we have had no Curve Balls, until now.… Read More
Last night we walked around looking for a place to eat, we did not want to eat at a restaurant next to the river as we thought it would be too expensive, we found a Town Square, a few blocks behind our hotel, but no restaurants. Then Peens found a policeman and asked him, via Google Translate, that we are looking for a “Nice Restaurant.”… Read More
Last night’s hotel was great even though it was from the same Hotel Group as the previous night, it is all about the Management I guess.
After check-in and the mad dash to hand in your Passport before your friends, (no Passport no Room,) Peens found the town square and sent us the location, the guys went to have a beer while I did the blog.… Read More
Yesterday when we rode into our little town it looked like a ghost town, all the shops and restaurants were closed and we could not even find one restaurant\pub to have a beer in. As a result we went to a Tuck-shop type of shop where we bought some ice, wine and beer and some whisky and a selection of water.… Read More
Last night we took 2 taxis and went to a suburb called Palermo. I think it was more a lunch spot than dinner spot as a lot of the Market Stalls were already packed up, or busy packing up. There were lots of restaurants and pups and after Rocky bought his wive a traditional “Mate Tea Cup with Strainer Straw plus 10 years of tea-leaves,” we chose a restaurant and had some Empanada and steak.… Read More
And then we hit a Curve Ball, the day before I fly. I am writing this Blog from the Cafeteria of the Ferry Terminal in Colonia del Sacramento, in Uruguay.

The ferry from BA was a 51km ride. We cleared Passport Control and left Argentina and then walked a few meters to the next line and our Passports were stamped by the Uruguay Passport lady and then we rode our bikes onto the ferry after handing in our TIP’s, we were out of Argentina and only needed to get a new TIP in Uruguay on arrival.… Read More
