Last night we were cold and wet and decided to not go out and search for a place to eat, we scratched around and found some nuts, biltong, cheese and wine from our panniers, (sadly one of the bottles of wine was un-drinkable as it was one of the local sweet red wines.

Yesterday was a day that should have broke our spirits, it should have decimated us, made us throw in the towel on this Adventure Travel BS. But is could not, we stood stronger than ever and instead of crying we laughed and as the saying goes “Soldiered On.” The Clearance of our bikes was never captured on the computers at SUNAT (Customs of Peru) and therefore no one knew what to do or how to handled this as we had confirmation Emails saying the suspension on our TIPS were lifted and we could take our bikes after they were inspected, within 24 hours.… Read More

Last night we walked along the Promenade among the locals, it was like Durban, in the old days, there were Market Stalls and lots of people walking among the stalls, others were cycling, or returning from the beach and others walking their dogs and lovers walked intertwined like koeksusters (holding more than just hands.) We slept in our little Dog Box last night, and sadly, I lost to Peens in Ching Chong Cha and had to sleep in the Bunk Bed. All went well until 3h00 when I needed the toilet to tinkle, for the record, it is not easy to climb down the ladder backwards at that hour, and even worse, if you survive the ladder, you step into your pannier bag and trip, (as there is no landing space in the room to put any luggage etc.… Read More

Last night we met up with Jorge, a 32 year old young Adventure Bike Rider who has been traveling for 4 months. He was born in the USA and his parents were originally from Mexico. Last night we went out to a Fancy Steak House to try the world famous Argentinian Beef. It was the best steak all us us had ever had, and we could not finish it, (we did get our order wrong as for the 7 of us we ordered two Toma Hawk steaks and two x 600grm Prime Rib.

After dinner Gorge said he was going out to experience the Night Life, that was the last we saw of him, he did not come to say goodbye at Breakfast (our routes goes in different directions today.)… Read More
