I forgot to comment last night on the one photo of a green statue of a soldier, it was at the end of a small village with 70 houses in the village, and on the monument and statue were the names of the soldiers who died from that village in WW2, and there were 58 names, almost one death per little house.… Read More

Yesterday we took a stroll along the river in town, the wooden carved window frames from the villages were also in this city, Irkutsk, very traditional of Russian houses. You could see the city was ready for the summer rush, but the people have still not arrived, (but maybe they will not arrive this year,) times are tuff in Russia, in spite of most people we speak to feeling very united and “in-step” with their leader, Puttin, and his vision and actions in Ukraine.… Read More

Friday 29 May to Zabituy 720km

This morning we awoke to a cloudless sky and the sun (which rises at 4h00) already burning away on what would become the warmest day we had so far on this Leg, 22 degrees. Most of this trips riding has happened at between 12 and 15 degrees, (and every now and then it dipped below 10 gegrees.)

We found the only other hotel guest at our “5 Star” hotel this morning where we left him the night before, at the bar, still with a Vodka in front of him next, to his fried egg and pancakes, but from his hair I could see that he was horisontal since the last time I saw him at 2h00.… Read More

This morning Pie raced off with Sergey hanging on the back pf Tex’s bike to collect the “spacer-disc” Pie ordered for his clutch. Sergey phoned a friend who knew a farmer who owned a horse which was ridden by the daughter of a woman who was married to a man who built his own airoplane, so he was sent a text with the size of a disc to be cut to be “popped” into Pie’s clutch to fill the gap of the parts he burtn-off when pulling the Toyota out of the mud.… Read More
